I have a note 3 on at&t that's on 4.4.4. Downgrade 4.4.4 to 4.4.2 and root, then upgrade to 4.4.4 and keep root! Unfortunately, there is no root method for 4.4.4 yet, and from what i've read there may never be since most devs have moved on to newer devices.
